Let It Snow for Upcomming Christmas

I am just making my wishes.

Remembering my days on Christmas for last few years, I realize none of them were very happy.

I always had work scheduled and worked on these very special days, which I would say "illegally worked"

because I didn't get extra pay.

For this up comming Christmas, I wished it would be different, but the fact is that I am working again.

So please, let us all wish for snow so it slows my shift, reducing customers, resulting early-off for my day.

Visiting Quebec City

I once traveled from Vancouver, BC to Quebec, Montreal, stopping by every major cities between. It was fun you can say that. I still remember my first night in the homeless shelter in Toronto. Becouse it was not planned way of travelling with only a small amount of budget, I slept during most of the nights in the bus, a shelter, or even in a shopping mall, and walk around the city or near the city during day time, watching people living. Most likely, it was all about it. I mean the travel was kinda focused on more about visiting people living in different areas than visiting places that I'v never been. Maybe it's because my impressions on the cities were that they were pretty much alike in fact, with no remarkable differences. However, when I arrived in Qubec city, the idea changed suddenly. I felt like I was in differnt country. It was like one of the city in Europe. The buildings, streets, and people were all different.

Firt thing I remember is that English seemed to be the second language for them. Well I guess it's true. They speak French as the first language instead, don't they. The accents and sentence structures they used was as unfarmillar as to make it hard to order a meal from McDonald's in the city, I mean harder.

As you can see in the pictures, the buidings, the architecture was very different too. They are like European buildings with narrow streets which I thought it's kind of romantic.

It was an winter when I was there, and the night view with snow falling and covering everywhere was just amazing. There were horses leading a carriage for tourists and couples walking together in this narrow streets. I just loved the city thought I was alone and had nothing in my poket.

If you are planning to travel in Canada, Quebec is the city you never want to miss.

Separate Bills Please

For most of time, I enjoy dinning out with my friends from countries all around the world, but for the first few years in Canada, it turned out to be little uncomfortable when it got to the matter of payment. It might be common and usual to ask for seperated bills in restourants in Canada and in some other countries, but infact, in Korea, it is a different story. Normally, one pays all and another pays next time. In another case, older one holds more responsibility in paying than yunger one even though there are only 1 or 2 years differences between ages. In case of paying separately, Korean's idea is more likely "paying together". They just help paying by handing over some amount of money they think it's reasonable. So when someone asks for seperated bills, it just doesn't feel "right" for Korean. Some might even get angry when people do so. For me, paying separately isn't something strange anymore, but still, when I am with Koreans only, I may have to think carefully about which way I should follow.

Cash Back

Oops, little nudity there.
Well... this movie I watched two days ago was lovely.
I really enjoyed watching it.
It's full of witt and
the beauty of the moment that last timeless.
The guy in the movie is an artist and has an ability to stop time,
and the movie poster is from a scene
when he stops the time and draws girls naked.
You got to watch this.
You will also love it.

I Wash My Cloths

I met my 19th birthday in Canada which meant I became a legally adult. This really meant it somehow because the responsibility was there. I was living at my aunt's house when I first came here, and that is how it started. Unlikely Korean parents beilieve they must support their children economically untill they graduate univercities and get a job, my aunt who married to Canadian husband and lived here for many years was not very supportive I would say. She convinced and let my parents to know that even kids make their own money here in Canada, and I see that it was convincing enough for them becuase not even pennie was given from my parents without a reason since then. It was true in fact and had great affects on me. It really tought me a lot about responsibiliy I conffess, not just economically but mentally as well. I have had like more than 10 different part time and full time jobs I worked for, and I have gained experiences and money for living during the time. I still do. It has led me to veriety of people and to understand their different perspectives. It also encouraged me to keep and to pursue my goal with a feeling of being adult ,a feeling of independency, because, without it, I might be doing something what my parents wanted me to do, not what I want to do if they surpported me whole time through out. I make my own decisions and I am responsible for that. Coming to Canada tought me that earlier than otherwise, and I appreciate it most.

Smoking Free

South Korea is a very small country, smaller than BC province actually, but it has about 50 million people living in while Canada has only 33 million. There are lots of differences come from that factor, and one of them would be high polluted air near big cities. Maybe this is why Korean cigarette is much weaker and softer than one in Canada. It doesn't need to be strong because the air people breath normally is already polluted, strongly. Afterall, my life with smoking matter has greatly changed after I started living in Canada.
The prices I pay are much more expansive than in Korea - 2dollars for one pack in Korea- and very limited place that smoking is allowed. For instance, almost every restourants in Korea are smoking permitted. It's slowly changing, but still there are lots. Smokers, they would never go to drink and eat where has a Smoking Free sign. There are numerous differences in smoking I can think of between Korea and Canada. However, it's clear that I have had some kinds of health beneficial effects from smoking in Canada since. I smoke less because of its high costs and because of Smoking Free area. Also the air is clean and nice. I hope these changes somehow help me on quitting smoking afterall.

The Martin Exhibition

I love almost anything I do with my own hands such as drawings, craftings, cooking, and so on. I love the idea of creation. In addition, 'presenting moment', the moment I give or show what I have done to others, is the most fun part. So, here my exhibition, I'd like to introduce some funs.

                                                                 #1 Sun Flowers

This was my gift for Taiyo Japanese Restourant I worked for. People were very kind, and I came to think of any gifts I can prepare. As a result,  I made "sun-flower" from milk bottle caps and openers that attatched on the top of every pop-cans.

#2. The Ship

This one was made with "ice-cream-bars", and was given to Norma's family when I was renting a room in the house.

#.3 Snow Woman

This one was just for fun.
I met her when everywhere was covered by snow.
We shared our good time but broke up on the first day of spring.

Making this post, I wish I have kept some more pictures of my hobby. Anyhow, this winter is supposed to have lots of snow, and hope I see them soon.

Bloggers in My Class

Visiting and watching peers' blog in my class made me think of differences between their enjoyments of being blogers. For some, I can trully feel their love in making their blog, and for some, it seems it is only one of their assignments given from Micheal, this includes my blog perhaps. Clearly, there are "blogers" and "students". The blogers are who enjoy making their blog, posting with pictures, communicating with other blogers in the class and outside. Their postings are full of interests and efforts, and it is one that affects otheres to often visit their blog. Also, there must be lots of comments made by other blogers at the bottom of their each posts. Unlikely, the students are ones who don't really enjoy having blog. It is just one of homework they must spend their valuable time into. Posts without any pictures, making short comments on others' just because they are told to. The reasons may vary: unfamilliar with making blog, don't like either taking pictures and showing off to others, or too busy in real-life, no time for life on-line. I am also the one who would be considered as a "student" in this criteria since I don't really have prior experience being bloger and not really had interests to it. However, I know this is a great chance to develope english communicating skills, and to be close with other friends in the class. So plz, add me on your list, and let us to be called friends!
